Using a multiplayer game to learn a language is basically chatting in a foreign language while playing a game. It can be extremely useful, albeit intimidating if you don’t have a good base of vocabulary and never expressed yourself before. However, if you can get through that hurdle, the rewards are amazing.
People are amazingly accepting and helpful when they understand you’re learning their language, especially while playing a game; from my experience the vast majority will try to help you; especially since I was able to teach a bit of English in return. It’s not a necessity, but it made me feel good about my relationship with some of my helpers.
Whenever you’re playing in multiplayer game for interaction, it’s always a good idea to join a guild; a group. If you could find a guild to join to, do it. It will give you a close circle of friends that would communicate with you as soon as you log in to the gameworld.
Here is a shortlist of such games you can use for online Language Gaming:
- World of Warcraft
World of Warcraf (WoW) is the most famous massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) there is. It’s very addictive, and since there are a lot of folks still playing it, you’re bound to make friends.
